PRME is the largest voluntary engagement platform for educational institutions to transform their education, research, and thought leadership to promote the universal importance of sustainability, responsibility, and ethics.
PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) was developed in 2007 backed by the United Nations; PRME now has 800 signatories representing institutions worldwide, with Conestoga being one of the first Canadian colleges to join the initiative. By leveraging PRME, Conestoga faculty and students will have access to an international community and network of peers to connect their applied research and work to global issues.
PRME activities lead by the faculty members Laura Matheson and Rajul Singh at the college. They are actively involved with learning and networking opportunities through PRME and recognize the value of adopting the principles at the college.

Conestoga has done quite a lot of activities around these PRME principles of responsible management.
- Conestoga has installed a Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations have been installed and are now available to use at Conestoga’s Doon, Guelph, and Waterloo campuses,
- Apart from that three-day development and leadership program to promotes and support educational leadership.
- Launched a new pilot program to support efficient recycling of coffee cups and many more.
Conestoga college is open to join the PRME initiative and looks ahead to share the knowledge and practices as well as creates opportunities to explore learning and applied research initiatives with PRME’s global alliance.
Please comment down below if you have any idea like that to make a Conestoga College more Sustainable.

So excited that Conestoga is implementing PRME! What does the plan look like? What are the Key Performance Indicators for progress? How can Students, Staff and Faculty help or be involved?

At the moment it is difficult to do any Campus activity as we did in past years, however, we have the opportunity to join off-campus activity such as WWF-Canada Designing Change for a Living Planet 2021 online participation where students can join the conference and participate in the competition online on over three exciting half-days: May 29, May 30, and June 5.

This is very exciting! Some great work has been done already. It would be really interesting if there could be some student led research projects to contribute to PRME efforts. I already attended a great PRME event virtually and we had participation from different universities all over the world! It would be great if we could collaborate with other schools on this student led research as well. Always great to get perspective from other countries/cultures.
